Nettle's Island As Seen from a Sailboat
Hey Nettle's Island! Check this out. Nettle's Island was "discovered" by a couple of sailors this past week. Their blog is great, take a look. You can feel the ocean roiling under you and I swear I could smell the apple pie...
I promised them I'd get something up here soon about why Nettle's Island is so darn "square" :) It kinda makes me wonder what travelers from another galaxy would think of Nettle's Island as they passed over...I'll say it again...Nettle's Island is unique!

From their Sailing Blog:

"Passing Red buoy 172 there was an oceanographic institution that was new to me - Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institution - right before Fort Pierce. I'll have to look them up and see what they specialize it. We also passed an interesting island today - perfectly square in shape, with trailers and prefab homes on them. I've never seen such a thing. It's called Nettles Island. It must be some way of garnering more water front property prices or something - but it's packed - wall to wall with homes."
