Water, Water, Everywhere! And Lots of Beach Too!
1/15/2009
These shells all found on Nettle's Island beach!
So...the ocean...and the beach, and the shells too. The smell of salt water and suncreen. Hot sun. Before we get to the beach tho, there's the pool.
Nettle’s Island owns a second pool right there on the ocean (there's another one at the NI Clubhouse...but that's another story!) Only Nettle's Island owners, renters, and their guests have access to this pool. You can also spread your towel out on the sand, right below the pool, or grab a chair or chaise lounge a bit away from the pool itself. There are umbrella tables too, 'cuz that Nettle's Island South Florida Sun can be a scorcher!
The beach is clean and smooth and very swimmable. Warning flags let you know when you shouldn't venture into the waves, and there's info on High Tide and Low Tide. Shell Hunters can plan their days around the best time for beach combing. Beach walking is great too. Just watch out for the fisherman along the shore...you can easily walk under their lines. People swim all day long, especially on the "Nettle's Island" section of the beach. You'll see (or use!) Boogie boards, sand "tennis", and frisbees all along the beach too. You can walk for miles in either direction.
