Pssst! Heard of Bathtub Beach?
"Bathtub Beach" is a well-kept Hutchinson Island secret. (And folks on Nettle's Island aren't opening their mouths about it either!) Hutchinson Island is of course a narrow barrier island bordered by the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean. At the southernmost tip “Bathtub Beach.”

It's called "Bathtub Beach" because at low tide, a gorgeous, shallow, clear lagoon is created by the natural coral reef just offshore. Bathtub Beach is patrolled by pelicans and seagulls, and is a great place for beach lovers to enjoy an early morning walk or a beautiful Florida sunset.

Bathtub Beach is also kid friendly. The shallow ocean lagoon, formed by the offshore reef is a safe place for snorkeling. The park is bordered by protected flowing sand dunes. The beach is free to the public and features lifeguards, free parking, restrooms and showers. It's educational too! An environmental exhibit explains how Bathtub Reef was formed.

Located on the southern end of Hutchinson Island, Bathtub Beach has lifeguards, picnic areas, free parking and other family friendly amenities. (Bathtub Beach 1585 S.E. MacArthur Blvd., Stuart 34996. 1(772) 221-1418)
